The Canonical Partner Programme

The Canonical Partner Programme is designed to help Canonical Partners when using Ubuntu as a major element of their solutions. There are many types of business that are providing solutions based on Ubuntu, from a simple pre-load of Ubuntu for a desktop PC, to a complex multi-vendor application environment. Each one of these partners has a slightly different requirement when it comes to hardware certification, software packaging or training course, so to meet the high standards required, Canonical has launched the Partner Programme with different benefits and different qualifying categories.

These levels depend on the size, skills and experience of your company, the level of business commitment and your technology. In return for this commitment, you get access to valuable sales, marketing, technical and support resources directly from Canonical.

There are five separate Tracks in the Partner Programme each focused on the requirements of the partner. The tracks are grouped to cover the following :-

Business Partners Technology Partners Training Partners
Consultants Hardware Vendors (IHVs) Academic Trainers
Resellers Software Partners (ISVs) Commercial Trainers
Systems Integrators System Builders/OEMs
VARs & VADs

Detail on the individual Track requirements can be found here: IHV, ISV, Solution Provider, System Builder and Training Partner.

These tracks are then divided into three Tiers of participation :

Most Gold partnerships include engineering, support and marketing collaboration. These partnerships require higher revenue and support commitments, but benefit from a much more strategic relationship with Canonical, and benefit from being intimately involved with Canonical's business processes and strategies. Gold Partners are appointed by invitation only.

Silver Partners have met a set of requirements set out by Canonical that demonstrate a definite commitment to promoting and developing open source technologies within their customer base and to building joint business with Canonical. These partners also receive additional marketing assistance and are eligible for technical support at reduced prices.

Want to find a Partner?

If you are looking for solutions based on Ubuntu, advice and guidance on how best to benefit from Ubuntu, or perhaps looking for someone to provide a full support service for your business, then the partners listed here should be your first point of call.

As an alternative to the more strictly managed Partner Programme, we have the Canonical 市场 which is the perfect place to be seen if you are just starting out with your Ubuntu business. Listing in the Marketplace is free to all businesses and individuals who are working with Ubuntu, whether they are providing local support to their clients, or providing large scale consultancy across regions and countries.
